Well known as one of the five grape varieties most used in Port wine in the south of Alentejo, its fruis develops an aromatic and very floral character. It has, however a low production, with small bunches and berries.

A special celebration of 100% Syrah released in the bicentenary of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. In 1991, we were the first to plant Syrah in Alentejo, with selected grafts from the southern wine variety of the Rhone.
A distinct wine made from grapes picked and selected manually. Herdade Grande Tinto has its origin in grapes of high quality that were destemmed and gently crushed followed by a “cold soak” at 10ºC for 1-2 days. A special wine for a great moment. Produced from carefully selected hand-picked grapes. This wine is the result of the fermentation of the finest white grapes of the company. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and in new French oak barrels and then aged on fine lees.
A special wine for a great moment. Herdade Grande Reserve has its origin in old vineyards, which grapes were hand-picked during September and transferred to small stainless steel tanks with temperature control, between 25ºC-28ºC during the fermentation period. The whole wine was aged in American and French oak, during 10-12 months.
